Description

For your consideration a 1910s Rex Professional Half Size Parlor in a Natural finish. This is a new one for us! We’ve had plenty of Rex guitars come through but none fully decked out with pearl inlays or half size! At over 100 years old this little guitar has seen somethings! It has had a bunch of repairs so its playing better than it has in a long time. Not for everyone but a this is a really interesting part of American guitar history!

Specs! This guitar is in fair condition. It has had a neck reset and a refret. The fingerboard may not be original. It has had top, back and side cracks glued. There is some over spray on the body. A partial crack on the headstock has been repaired. Repair work has been down on the heel and it has a new heel cap. Center seam is splined. It has a new pearl nut. Engraved open gear tuners. Pearl head stock inlays. Rosewood overlay on head stock. Nut width is 1.75″. Mahogany neck with a depth of .92″ at the first fret and 1.10″ at the tenth fret (pronounced V shape). 21.75″ scale length. Possibly ebony fingerboard with 20″ radius. 18 medium sized frets in excellent condition. Natural finished body with some over spray. Ebony bridge. Comes with its original trap door case. Weighs 2 pounds and 6 ounces.

What can we say we just love funky 100 year old guitars! This Rex Professional defiantly check all the boxes. Unique size and scale length (21.75″). Pearl inlays all over the place! Great V neck shape! Repairs everywhere just to keep this little machine goin. Original canvas trap door case by Biltwel. This probably wont be your main guitar but it could be one of your coolest! Really fun to sit around with and strum/ hash out song ideas. Very interesting part of American guitar history!
