Up for sale is an exceptionally cool and fairly clean early production 1989 ESP Kamikaze IV 4 in the original fluorescent green color scheme. This made in Japan instrument has some unique features and according to the markings in the neck pocket was a NAMM Show guitar in 1989. “NAMM ’89 NY GL #10498” is written in the neck pocket and “NAMM #10498” is written on the butt of the neck. Oddly, the original ESP branded Floyd is recessed in the body rather than top mounted like most of the Kamikaze IVs we see from this era. I imagine the reasoning for this is because it was a NAMM instrument and the Kamikaze 1s featured a recessed tremolo at this point with the ESP branded Floyd. The bridge pickup is a ESP LH-200 which sounds killer. Although this example is a little heavy it is very clean less some light finish checks in the neck pocket, a few scattered dings / dents and some light play wear. Pro setup in and comes complete with a non original hard case with interesting “art work” on the exterior (case has a hint of nicotine smell).
