Description

For your consideration a 1983 Gibson Custom Shop Explorer Korina with a Natural finish. Built before the Gibson Custom Shop was established but still labeled Custom Shop Edition on the back of the headstock. Wonderful Korina body, the finish has aged brilliantly. At some point two chips came out of both sides of the neck pocket, the tenon was never broken and they were professionally repaired using Korina! Non-original bridge and tail piece. Original set of Tim Shaw hand wound PAF humbuckers! Sounds incredible! Excellent condition frets, hard to believe after almost 40 years! Perfect low action, should be able to handle your heaviest riffs! Nice light weight for an Explorer. It’s one of those guitars you don’t even have to plug in, you can hear how brilliant and resonant it is with just a few picks!
