Up for sale is a beautiful and heavily worn 1948 Martin D-18 in its original natural finish. This guitar has a ton of finish wear, play wear, dings / dents scratches, etc and absolutely shows its 77 years of age. This example appears to have had a refret in its life as well as what appears as an older neck reset. The saddle currently is about as low as it will go with action measuring 3.5mm on the bass side and 2mm on the treble at the 12th fret. The action is comfortable and if lower action is desired another neck reset would be in order. The tuners are modern repros, there is an additional strap button on the neck heel, there are cleated back and side cracks and the bridge has a repaired crack located near the bridge pins. That all being said this guitar sounds wonderful and looks absolutely amazing. If you look at the current market on 40s era D-18s this guitar is a bargain and is just a little more than what you would expect to pay for a modern Martin Custom Shop. Comes complete with a modern non original padded soft case.
