Up for sale is a stunning 1949 Gibson LG-2 block logo small bodied X-braced acoustic guitar in its original sunburst finish. One of the best sounding acoustics in the shop right now, hands down! Big sound and a familiar late 40s chunky neck that measures .94 @ 1st / 1.14 @ 12th. This guitar was dated to 1949 based off the FON, neck profile, logo, pickguard, beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Weight: 3lbs. 13oz.

This example is free of any cracks major cracks with the exception of a top crack located under the pickguard which has been cleated and a few hairline back cracks which have been glued and are closed up. The action is currently comfy with fair action up and down the neck and string height measuring 3.5mm on the bass side and 3mm on the treble. The original saddle is in tact and appears to have room to come down The tuners are a later set of single line Klusons with replaced tips. There also is an aftermarket strap button added to the bass side of the body near the neck joint.

We get a fair amount of LG1s, 2s, and 3s through the store and this is hands down one of the best. Sounds fabulous and comes with a period correct brown Lifton case.
