Description

Up for sale is a clean collector grade 1954 Fender Stringmaster T8 Triple Beck Console Steel in blond. This example is in amazing condition as is its original tweed case (missing handle).

This is an early 1954 "transition" Stringmaster T8 console steel guitar, having at least one feature found on the previous Custom Triple-Eight series: the trapezoid-shaped "boxcar" pickups. These were a "string-through" design; there is a magnet both above the strings, and below them. The sound is very unique, but was later replaced with more standard, easier-to-produce single coil pickups. Visible pot codes date to the 21st week of 1950.

While this instrument is clearly not a 6 string Spanish Style electric from the era it does in fact share a lot of the same features as the famed Telecaster such as the blond finish, flat head screws, knobs and switch tip.

Pro setup in house and ones complete with its original tweed case (missing handle)
