Up for sale is a 1954 Martin 00-17 with so much vibe. Buckle up cause you're in for a wild ride friends! This one has been around the block. At some point in this one's life its nut, bridge, tuners and frets were all replaced. In addition there is a signs of a neck reset once upon a time. There are several cracks on the sides top and back all of which show signs of repairs. The fingerboard has some spots of play wear which have been filled. Looking over the guitar there is what appears to be overspray across and around the entire instrument, Id venture to say this has happened more than once in this one's lifetime. The action measures 3mm at the bass side and 2mm on the treble side and there is not much saddle left to bring the action down any lower than this.
Now that we have gotten all of that out of the way, this one feels great and sounds killer! This is an amazing old Martin which has tons of vibe, great tone, and many songs inside still to be written. I am of the opinion that whomever becomes the caretaker of this one is going to inherit an amazing instrument.
Pro Setup in house and ships with a hardshell case.
Weight: 3lbs. 10oz.
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
