Up for sale is a 1962 Gibson LG-1 in its original sunburst finish. This instrument has had the same owner its entire life and overall is in very good condition with no cracks and a nice and vibrant finish. Ladder braced, spruce top w/ mahogany back and sides, large tort pickguard and Kluson single line tuners. Early in the guitars life the bridge was changed and a new nut was installed. The bridge is slightly oversized and appears to be made of ebony. There is a very faint lift to it and the saddle is about as low as it will go. That all being said, the guitar has fair action in the higher register, measuring 3.5mm on the bass side and 3mm on the treble. Playability wise it feels great until the upper register where the action is on the medium size. Sounds nice and comes complete with a modern Gibson hard case. Weight: 4lbs. 0oz.
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
