Freshly inspected and set up in-house by our esteemed Guitar Tech.  In Very Good Vintage condition with normal wear for an instrument of this age, including scratches, dings, nicks, and natural aging of parts and finish.  All of the fingerboard inlays are original but some have been reglued.  Includes an original Wah effect module.

Electra MPC guitars were made in Japan by Matsumoku for St. Louis Music and became popular partly due to endorsements by artists like Peter Frampton, Leslie West, Rick Derringer, and The Outlaws. Originally, the guitars had Gibson-style headstocks but were changed to a distinctive "wave" headstock shape to avoid legal issues.

The 1970s Electra MPC (Modular Powered Circuits) guitars were innovative electric guitars introduced by Electra in 1976. These guitars featured a pair of cartridge slots built into the guitar cavity that allowed two effect modules to be plugged in and controlled directly from the guitar, eliminating the need for external effect pedals.

Electra manufactured MPC modules with various effects like Phase Shifter, Dynamic Fuzz, Treble & Bass Expander, Overdrive, Auto Wah, Tube Sound, Octave Box, Flanger, and Compressor, plus a special "Mini Amp" headphone amplifier module. The effects are controlled via on/off toggle switches and adjustable knobs on the guitar itself.  Only two effects modules can be plugged in at any given time.  This particular guitar comes with only one effect which is Auto Wah.  Additional modules may be available in the vintage marketplace.

The guitar also has a 5-way rotary selector switch  on the upper bout which operates as follows:

Both pickups in series & in phase

Bass pickup only for rhythm

Both pickups in parallel & in phase

Treble pickup only for leads

Both pickups in series & out of phase

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings.  Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so.  We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument.  Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear.  If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have.  Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
