Up for sale is a 2001 Gibson Flying V Cherry. Before we get into this one, if you are looking for a clean example of a Flying V this is not the instrument for you. That being said this one is RAD! The previous owner gigged and toured this one and it shows. There is minor buckle rash along with minor dings and nicks present around the guitar. At one point the rear strap button was relocated to the back of the upper wing but had since been put back in its normal position. A double mirror pickguard was added to this one along with a mirrored truss rod cover. The pickups were swapped at one point to a set of Seymour Duncan Alnico APH1 pickups with chrome covers which sounds great and completes the look! This Pickguard was enlarged around the bridge screws to allow to be as low as possible action if the new owner desires. The tuners were swapped to a set of Daddario trim-lock tuning keys which function and look amazing. At one point this one had a sticker on the back of the body and the face of the headstock, both of which have been removed but show some wear. Please see our photos for a complete cosmetic condition. The frets show some light wear but nothing major and have plenty of life left in them.
All that being said this is one of the coolest Flying V's we have had in recent memory and can wait to see where it goes on its next rock and roll voyage!
Pro setup by our in house tech and ships with its original hardshell case. Weight: 7lbs. 2oz.
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
