Up for sale is a 1962 Fender 5F1 Narrow Panel Tweed Champ. Some amps need no introduction! If you've ever spent any time with a 5F1 circuit then you know why it's one of the most recorded electric guitar tones ever! This one comes to us with a few important notes. The original tweed and pine cabinet present but in rough cosmetic shape, the handle has been changed. Please see our photos for a complete cosmetic condition. At some point this one has been recapped, the previous owner opted to install the new caps into the original Astron sleeves. The original output transformer is present as is the speaker. Original speaker is coded 465224, dating to the 24th week of 1962. The transformers are coded 606219 and 606226, dating to the 19th and 26th week of 1962. Unfortunately the tube chart is missing, that being said we were able to date this one via the original volume pot and the sleeves for the original caps. This one fires up and gives all the tweed tone and vibe you would expect. There's never been a better time to get into a Tweed Champ!
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
