ABOUT TV JONES RAY BUTTS PICKUPS:

Ray Butts developed the Filter'Tron pickup in 1957 specifically for Chet Atkins, aiming to create a high-fidelity, hum-canceling pickup with a wide frequency response and minimal noise from external sources. The original design was called the "Ful-Fidelity" in Butts' technical notes, and it was later renamed "Filter'Tron" by Gretsch. The pickups are smaller than Gibson humbuckers, with a narrower pole spacing and thicker magnets, resulting in a crisp, articulate tone with pronounced high frequencies and tight bass.

The Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity pickups are a modern recreation of the original Filter'Tron pickups designed by Ray Butts in the late 1950s, and they are featured in select limited edition Gretsch electric guitars. These pickups are renowned for their unique tonal character and historical significance, capturing the classic Gretsch sound that helped define the brand's identity.
