Whenever Sinker mahogany is available it's high on my list for a new build! Sinker mahogany is Genuine Mahogany that has laid submerged at the bottom of rivers—often in Belize—for 75 to 150+ years. The cold, waterlogged environment preserves the wood while mineral content fills the pores, creating old-growth, dense lumber with superior tonal properties, specifically increased projection and sustain. 

This build is from our most recent trip to Nazareth. The Thunder Road team sorted through the Martin tone wood archive to bring you the absolute best of the best! In addition to a ground up design each of these instruments has a label inside the body which shows it was crafted by hand for Thunder Road Guitars.
