The Friedman IR-X is a dual-channel all-tube preamp pedal featuring two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes that provide authentic Friedman amp tone and response. It has two independent foot-switchable channels: Channel 1 offers clean to gritty Plexi-style tones, while Channel 2 delivers Friedman’s signature high-gain drive with punch, articulation, and sustain. Each channel includes separate controls for gain, bass, middle, treble, volume, and boost, along with additional tone-shaping switches like a 3-way bright switch on Channel 1 and a 2-way Tight switch on Channel 2.

The pedal also incorporates DSP-based impulse response (IR) cabinet and power amp simulation, allowing it to function as a full rig in a pedalboard-friendly package—ideal for DI recording, live front-of-house sound, or direct use with headphones.
