ABOUT BUZZ FEITEN TUNING SYSTEM:

The Buzz Feiten Tuning System used on Anderson guitars is an advanced intonation and tuning setup designed to significantly improve how in tune the guitar sounds across the entire fretboard. It combines a patented compensated nut placement—where the nut is moved slightly closer to the first fret—and precise bridge saddle intonation offsets calibrated for the scale length and string gauges of the guitar.

This system addresses common tuning and intonation problems found in traditional guitars, especially with chords, by aiming for a "well-tempered" tuning. This means chords and intervals sound more harmonically pleasing and in tune with each other, similar to the tuning approach used in pianos. The result is notably better chordal intonation and more accurate tuning overall, often described as a more "musical" and consistent sound.

Tuning the guitar with the Buzz Feiten system requires a slightly different method, usually tuning the high E string normally but tuning the B string just a tiny bit sharper, and then tuning the remaining strings with harmonics at the 7th fret for precise intonation. Some electronic tuners support preset Buzz Feiten offsets for simplified tuning.

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings.  Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so.  We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument.  Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear.  If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have.  Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
